Traders Prism vs TradeZella

These are not the same product. TradeZella is a journal for traders in every market; Traders Prism is a futures trade copier whose journal fills itself. We built Traders Prism, so read this knowing who wrote it. Everything in the TradeZella column comes from tradezella.com — their own pages, pricing and documentation — and nothing from reviews.

What each one is for

TradeZella is a trading journal and analytics platform for equities, options, futures, forex and crypto: a widget dashboard, a composite score, hundreds of reports, tick-level trade replay, backtesting over more than a decade of data, playbooks with checkable rules, an AI layer and a free prop-firm tracker. It does not copy trades.

Traders Prism is a trade copier for futures prop accounts with the journal built onto the back of it. Because we place the orders, every fill is already journaled — no import, nothing to reconcile — and the copier, the analytics and the risk rules are one subscription.

The differences that decide it

  • Copying. One lead to many followers across brokers and firms, with per-follower sizing and risk rules. TradeZella has no copier — its own product line-up covers journaling, backtesting, AI, prop-firm sync, replay, education and community.
  • Getting trades in. Ours arrive automatically because we placed them. Their integrations list shows automatic sync for 13 platforms and file upload for roughly 39 more, with Rithmic R Trader, TopstepX, ProjectX, Sierra Chart and Quantower on the upload list.
  • What the AI can do. Iris has eight tools and all eight only read — it cannot place an order, change a rule or edit a journal entry, and it is unmetered. Their agents include auto-tagging that writes labels to trades on import, metered by credits per plan.
  • Your history. Our system fields — fills, prices, fees, times — are immutable; notes and tags are editable and deletes are restorable.
  • Prop firms. Theirs reports your drawdown across seven firms including FTMO and The5ers, with Plaid categorising fees and payouts. Ours reads six futures firms off live connected accounts next to a rule engine that can block, flatten or lock before a limit is hit.

Where TradeZella wins

  • Tick-level trade replay with tagging while you watch. We have no chart replay at all.
  • Backtesting against more than eleven years of real market data; our backtesting tab records results rather than replaying data.
  • Broker connections across equities, options, forex and crypto, so those trades import themselves. Our journal holds any instrument, but we connect to futures brokers only, so anything else is manual entry or CSV. Copying is futures-only.
  • A 29-widget arrangeable dashboard and a single named composite score.
  • Playbooks with checkable rules that separate strategy quality from execution discipline.
  • Free webinars, courses and a large community network.
  • Plaid bank connection that categorises evaluation fees and payouts automatically.
